REDUCED ANAESTHETIC RISK AND IMPROVED REHABILITATION

LOCO-REGIONAL ANAESTHESIA

Carrying out surgery is only possible if the patient feels comfortable. In addition, the intention is that the patient starts his or her recovery by resuming normal activities as soon as possible after the surgery.

The surgery is traditionally performed under general and extensive anaesthesia. The disadvantages of this, however, are the frequent occurrence of nausea, the time it takes to regain strength, and the fact that more pain is experienced after the procedure. In collaboration with our colleagues from the Anaesthesia department of the ZOL Genk, we have developed an optimal schedule in recent years through the use of loco-regional anaesthesia techniques.

These techniques focus on anaesthetising the main nerves around the hip joint. By numbing these nerves in a specific and very local manner, we significantly reduce the anaesthesia of the patient himself/herself. With this technique, the patient is therefore not under general anaesthesia. The patient is usually asleep during the procedure, and doesn’t feel or hear anything. As a result, the patient will awake in the wake-up room immediately after surgery without a risk of nausea.

This high-performance anaesthesia, combined with the muscle-saving EDA procedure, makes it possible to guarantee a maximum of pain relief with a minimum of anaesthetic risk. This promotes early recovery.

HIP PROSTHESIS

The Corail-Pinnacle prosthesis has shown the best results after 10 to 20 years of follow-up

In addition to the muscle-sparing technique used, the quality of the prosthesis is an important factor in the success of the operation. It goes without saying that Prof. Dr. Corten makes use of the best prosthesis system that is available today.

ONE-NIGHT HIP

The EDA operation leads to far fewer complications

Our multi-disciplinary approach ensures that you are optimally prepared, so that you can already leave the hospital 24 hours after an EDA Hip procedure. Our HipCloud application supports you further at home, with the possibility of contacting the team 24/7.

MONITORING

The EDA operation leads to far fewer complications

The follow-up figures show us that the risk of complications with the EDA hip has been significantly reduced compared to hip prosthesis surgery before it was carried out according to the procedure developed by Professor Corten.

ESYSUIT

The EsySuit significantly reduces the risk of infections

The EsySuit, which was developed by Prof. Dr. Corten, is an ingenious sterile suit that is put on in one smooth movement. This puts the patient at less risk of contamination in the operating theatre, as opposed to the normal covering procedure.

The secretariat is not available from 1/8 to 7/8. We will answer all emails and calls from 8/8 onwards.
